Cancellation Policy

Empower Adventures has a 72 hour cancellation policy for groups of 7 or less and 7 day policy for groups of 8 or more. This means any leisure program that is cancelled outside of 72 hours or 7 days prior to the program/tour will receive a refund less a $25.00 cancellation fee per reservation (not per person). Cancellations within the respective window will not be refunded. Therefore, if you need to reschedule your tour, you may do so one time without penalty. If you decrease the number of people on your reservation inside of 72 hours or have people from your group “no-show,” no refunds will be given but we will issue a rain check for those who could not make it. Any unused portion of your reservation is transferable, so you can give it away or sell it if you choose.

  • If you arrive for your tour, and decide to cancel your zip line adventure due to fear, we will give you a rain check not a refund. This rain check is transferable and can be applied to a future tour. We encourage you to try again.
  • For large group outings and team building programs, a special cancellation policy will be outlined in detail in the program resume and must be initialed and signed prior to booking the program.
  • If we cancel your tour due to weather or other unforeseeable conditions, we will reschedule your tour for another time or give you a full refund.
  • If you are late and miss your tour, you will not receive a refund or be able to join your tour. Your tour and guides will depart as scheduled. We may be able to place you in a later tour on a space available basis. We do expect you to arrive 30 minutes prior to your reserved tour time.
Arrival

The Empower Tower and Tree Top Zip Tour is located at the rear of the Resort and is approximately 1000 feet past the Stallion Barn to the west (going away from the Equestrian Center). Canopy Tour guests can walk or ride a golf cart shuttle to the Tree Top Zip Tour. Shuttle riders should meet at the designated pickup point behind the resort under the large oak tree very near the fire pit. Please check-in at the Tree Top Zip Tour or the shuttle pickup point 30 minutes prior to your scheduled adventure to complete the pre-tour wavier. Please understand that adventures will start on time as scheduled. Late arrivals may have the opportunity to reschedule.

Reservations

Reservations are required. Standard tour groups are limited to 10 participants with two Empower guides. Guests without reservations may request a spot on a current tour if space is available. Payment in full will be required at the time the reservation is made for the total number of participants in your reservation. Please contact the Empower Adventures office for reservations by calling (540) 692-9471 or by email to office@empoweradventures.com

Requirements for Participation

The Tree Top Zip Tour is designed for use by guests of average mobility and strength, and who are in reasonably good health. Children must be at least 70 pounds AND 7 years old to participate. Children between the ages of 7 to 15 must be accompanied to the facility by an adult. For safety’s sake, guests for the tree top canopy tour must weigh between 70 and 270 pounds. Please call if you have any questions regarding weight and age requirements. There is a staircase walk of 2 stories to the start of the Tree Top Zip Tour and there is a 5 minute walk back to the start point at the conclusion of the tour. Additionally:

  • Participants under the age of 18 must have a signed waiver by a parent. If the parent is not present, a photocopy of the parent’s driver’s license must accompany the signed waiver.
  • Pregnant women, people with heart, leg, or back problems, or other serious illnesses will not be allowed to participate in the tour.
  • No one under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, or impairing legal drugs, will be allowed to participate in the tour.
Attire

Please wear proper attire for this Empower Adventures outdoor activity. Sturdy, close-toed shoes, comfortable pants, tights, or shorts suitable for an outing in the woods. Please avoid accessories such as scarves, necklaces, hoop earrings, or others that may get snagged. Long hair should be in a low ponytail. Avoid skirts or dresses and please check the weather forecast on the morning of your tour. Valuables and items such as keys wallets, etc. should be left at the resort or in your car if possible.

Tours are operated in the rain, so please be prepared. If you do not have rain gear, Empower may be able to provide a rain layer. Empower Adventure Middleburg, LLC and the Salamander Resort & Spa are not responsible for property lost, damaged, or stolen during your tour.

Weather

Tours are rarely cancelled due to weather. Rain, snow, cold, and heat create unique adventure experiences. However, the course will be closed for lightening activity and excessively high winds. If we know in advance that we will be closing the course due to weather, we will contact you via cell phone or at the contact number you provide to us when booking. If your tour is cancelled due to weather, you will have the option to reschedule or receive a refund.

Pictures

The Empower guides will take pictures throughout your Empower experience and they are available for sale before and after the tour as well as when you make your reservation. Save money by purchasing your photos while making your reservation. If you purchase your photos following your tour, the cost is $12/person. The guides make every effort to take several shots of each person throughout the canopy tour experience. However, safety takes priority over picture taking and this may mean that picture opportunities are missed. In addition, pictures may be impacted by limited visibility, weather conditions and group cooperation. We will make every effort to make sure every guest has numerous quality pictures of their time with us. We cannot take responsibility for technical malfunctions, human error or any other unforeseen problems that could impact your photos. Photos are delivered via digital link where you can download your photos, share on social media, email and print.

Accident or Injury

All participants must sign a waiver form prior to engaging in any Empower Adventures activity. Empower Adventure Middleburg, LLC and Salamander Resort & Spa shall not be liable for any accident or injury suffered by a guest while using the facilities. While rare, accidents on other zip lines have occurred. Individuals under 18 will need a parent or legal guardian to sign their waiver form.

Cleanliness

In keeping with our commitment to cleanliness, safety and hygiene, our equipment is sanitized after every tour and program.
